Pick-ups remain hot sellers in the US, and the competition can be tough. While Toyota has been selling pick-ups in the country since the 1960s, it has failed to make serious inroads into the full-size segment, which remains clearly dominated by Ford, General Motors and FCA US. Rivalry among the larger models is intense and the stakes in this lucrative segment are high. However, the mid-size segment has been a much more subdued affair.
