Cass data provides upbeat assessment of N. American trucking

Cass Truckload Linehaul Index data for February 2015 continues to paint a positive picture in terms of the operating environment for North American truckload fleets. The Cass Information Systems index - which reflects linehaul per mile pricing – increased 6.6% year-on-year following similar significant increases in January (7.9%) and December (7.3%). The index, which is based off a figure of 100 at the start of 2005, now measures 123.6, a record number for February, but slightly off (2.2%) December’s all time high number of 126.4.
