BMW calls in new leadership for China’s new normal

With the normalisation of the China market, perhaps a different kind of strategy is required

BMW is bringing in a new head for its operations in China, a market in which it can't afford to get it wrong. As of 1 December 2015, Olaf Kastner will take over as head of the BMW Group’s China sales region, while Karsten Engel, who has been filling the role, will return to Germany. Kastner previously led the BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture, a position that will be taken over by Anton Heiss.
