Acceptance of automated manual transmissions grows, says DTNA

A growing number of fleet operators are finding benefits in automated manual transmissions

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) recently announced a US$375m investment at its Detroit Powertrain brand headquarters and manufacturing facility in Redford, Michigan, to house production of the new DD5 and DD8 medium-duty engines. The same facility also recently benefitted from a US$100m investment, allowing the OEM to start production of its DT12 Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
