US: Parts shortage closes Chrysler’s Belvidere plant

Chrysler has been forced to halt operations at its Belvidere plant in Illinois due to a shortage of components, reports Reuters. The plant employs around 2,300 people building the Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot. Production will remain idled on 17 and 18 February due to the shortage.
