Electric vehicle charging habits vary depending on individual users. Charging at home can be easy, as most EVs come with cables that can be plugged directly into a standard plug socket. This takes far longer than using a public fast charging station, which typically provide a full charge in around 50 minutes. As a result, current EV owners that charge at home often do so overnight.

Some companies are looking to make this process smarter and more efficient. In doing so, they hope to provide the customer with benefits, such as lower electricity bills, while also having a positive impact on the grid.
