Apicom, leader in the engine test benches sector, presented itself to its employees and representatives of client companies with a rich two-days convention held on the 4th and the 5th of July in the company’s headquarters of Cento (FE). During the event the new business plan for the coming years as well as a number of new and innovative products were presented to Apicom employees and the representatives of over 40 companies in the sector. In the main presentation of the meeting, President Claude Marquet, CEO Stefano Borghi, together with Vice President Carlo Mauri, the technical director Nicola Fabbri, the production director Gino Centofante and the commercial director Roberto Iovacchini all spoke of the present and the future of the company.
The guests of the meeting, called “Today and Tomorrow”, have first witnessed an illustration of APICOM’s objectives for the forthcoming years, and then a spectacular reveal of the new container – test bench. This new product will enable APICOM’s clients to install “plug & play” motor test benches ready to operate anywhere in the world without the need of special transportation means and with the important advantage that it can be easily replaced in the event of a relocation of the production. A new dynamometer system was then presented to the public; this system should lead Apicom to be the first global player in the industry, together with the new test bench management software HORUS. The various technical presentations were followed up by a general tour of the company headquarters and a guided tour to two important local museums, the private car collection Righini and the MAGI900 museum.
The key to the revival of Apicom lies in the new French ownership, Groupe GMB / ICM Invest, whose president is the known entrepreneur Claude Marquet. The group, run by the Marquet family, counts companies operating in various sectors, from real estate to chemicals, and has recently welcomed Apicom in its family, with the intent to grow the business internationally.
President Marquet stressed “the importance of nurturing the relationship between customer and supplier, and that Apicom must be a long-term partner for its customers.” The shift towards a high quality offer was reiterated in various speeches that have emphasized how only high quality can make Apicom be the top player it wants to be, contradicting those who believe that today the key to success is the lowest possible price at all costs.
It is also important to know that Apicom has recently hired 15 new engineers, most of whom have a high level of education, to strengthen its team dedicated to global customers and be ready for the challenges that the company will face in the next years. As the CEO Stefano Borghi said, “Apicom aims to be within the next few years the world first player for dynamometers and end of line, the second global player in China and India and the third global player in Europe”.
