80% of driverless car benefits cost around US$200, says Delphi

The vast majority of safety benefits provided by a fully autonomous vehicle are not as pricey as you might think, writes Freddie Holmes

Potentially the biggest obstacle hindering fully autonomous vehicles is whether or not the consumer will pay for such technology. However, the reality is that most highly autonomous functions are available today for a fraction of the price of a completely driverless car. That’s according to Jeff Owens, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Delphi.
