While the connectivity of Formula One (F1) cars can help engineers to predict race outcomes and the health and safety of the vehicles, the introduction of so much wireless data brings with it a mass of security challenges. These challenges are mainly around the security of the production line, protection of the company’s IP and importantly, the safety of the driver. On race weekends there’s a notable increase in malware traffic, so protecting the systems and data that help keep the drivers and their vehicles connected has never been more important.
