26 January 2015, Höegh Autoliners held an official office opening reception in Mexico City, Mexico.
The inauguration was successfully celebrated with customers and suppliers in the Habita Hotel in Polanco, Mexico City near Höegh’s new office location.
“The official office opening was an extremely important event for us, where we could stress the importance of Mexico in our company’s strategy to our main customers, partners and suppliers” says Tomasz Lis, Head of Area Latin America at Höegh Autoliners.
Höegh Autoliners has simultaneously opened two offices in the second half of 2014. The commercial office in Mexico City, a key market and the capital of the country and an operational office in Veracruz, Mexico’s largest automotive port.
Tomasz continues: “It is crucial for our further development to have local sales and customer service teams reachable to our customers at all times and an operational team fully focused on providing high quality vessel and cargo operation.”
“We have already implemented a series of initiatives, which have allowed us to improve greatly on the operational side of the business, something that is challenging in Mexico due to its capacity constraints.”
Höegh Autoliners currently serves Mexico with several trades through the port of Veracruz on the Atlantic Coast, but also through Lazaro Cardenas on the West Coast.
“Those trades allow us to offer services to and from all continents linking Mexico with other markets both in import, as well as in export. Having in mind that Mexico has signed more than 40 Free Trade Agreements over the years, it is key for any OEM to be able to serve external markets with Mexican production.” Says Tomasz.
In 2014 Höegh Autoliners had on average more than 5 port calls per month at Mexican ports, and in where 2015 that number is expected to be exceeded. The increased presence with new offices and dedicated and well trained staff is a proof to the company’s long term commitment to this market.
