Audi raids make diesel trouble impossible to downplay

Ruper Stadler was forced to concede that the defeat device scandal remained a major unresolved issue as prosecutors showed up at the company on the day of its annual press conference. By Megan Lampinen

Volkswagen Group may be pushing to put the diesel scandal behind it but recent development suggest there is still much to come. Audi Chief Executive Rupert Stadler opened the brand's annual press conference with an admission: "The diesel crisis has not yet been overcome." It would be hard to state otherwise as German prosecutors were raiding a handful of Audi and VW sites at the time.
