São Paulo locks in US$248m e-bus programme

As many as 2,200 e-buses, some of which will be fully electrified, will be deployed as part of the new scheme. By Stewart Burnett

The city of São Paulo has secured a US$248.3m loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to expand its public bus electrification programme. The initiative aims to deploy as many 2,200 clean-energy buses, including battery-electric models, to reduce emissions and improve public transportation in the city and its metropolitan region.
