Ford Motor Company recognizes Webasto’s Schierling plant for achieving the highest levels of excellence in quality, innovation, and cost performance
Webasto has won the World Excellence Award from Ford in the Gold category. After winning Silver twice and Gold once, it is the fourth award Webasto has been given by Ford for its production plant in Schierling, which is representative of Webasto’s outstanding achievements in Europe. With the award, the automaker pays tribute to its best suppliers each year. In all, 51 companies worldwide received the award from Ford. Only five percent of them were presented with the Gold award.

Schierling stands for lightweight innovation
At its Schierling plant, the automotive supplier has almost 30 years of manufacturing experience. Since 1986, Webasto has produced various roof systems for renowned automobile manufacturers here. So far, around 4.5 million roofs have been manufactured for Ford in Schierling. Today, Schierling is Webasto’s worldwide plastics competence center for roof systems. At this plant, Webasto manufactures polycarbonate panels and roofs, light Webasto Glas ProTec® safety glass, solar roofs, and lightweight sliding headliners made of a polyurethane composite material.
