Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it will exhibit the Honda Smart Home System (HSHS), the UNI-CUB personal mobility device and other products at CEATEC JAPAN 2013, which will take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from Tuesday, October 1 through Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Striving to realize the joy and freedom of mobility and a sustainable society where people can enjoy life, Honda has been committed to the development and market introduction of sustainable energy technologies and electromotive technologies for mobility products. With the hope to enable more people to see and experience such Honda technologies and products, Honda decided to exhibit at CEATEC JAPAN, a comprehensive and cutting-edge IT and electronics exhibition, for the first time.

With three unique themes – “household engines,” “mobility for indoors” and “connectable automobiles” – Honda will offer proposals that only Honda can make for an exciting and futuristic lifestyle with automobiles.

As a part of the “household engines” exhibit, Honda will propose household energy production and consumption through the introduction of its energy management technologies for the Honda Smart Home System (HSHS) and the exhibiting of its household gas engine cogeneration unit. In addition, the exhibit will include a device consisting of a motorcycle which represents a gas-engine power generation unit, and a steaming kettle which represents a hot water supply system utilizing exhaust heat. With this presentation, visitors can enjoy experiencing the function of Honda’s highly-efficient gas-engine cogeneration system.

Moreover, as a proposal for mobility products which enhance the freedom of “mobility for indoors,” the UNI-CUB, a new personal mobility product, and the Walking Assist Device with Bodyweight Support System will be exhibited as well.

Furthermore, as a proposal for “connectable automobiles,” a convenient and fun lifestyle where automobiles connect with homes, communities, and people, Honda will demonstrate the remote control of household electrical appliances from an automobile, and also introduce ICT-based (information and communication technology) services which support safe and comfortable driving.

The press conference at the Honda booth is scheduled to begin at 10:15am on October 1, 2013.
