OMRON Corporation (TSE: 6645, ADR: OMRNY, Head office: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, President and CEO: Yoshihito Yamada) today announced the commencement of operations at their newly established regional head office, the Omron Management Center of Korea (hereinafter referred to as “OMCK,” President: Takao Yamauchi), in the city of Seoul. The new office will be responsible for strengthening Omron’s business operations in South Korea.

OMCK will provide Omron Group companies operating in South Korea with dedicated financial and legal support; human resources support, helping to deal with local personnel recruitment and staff training; reinforcement of the Omron brand in South Korea; and CSR functions.

South Korea has advanced industries such as digital equipment and automobiles, and serves as a center of Omron’s client companies with global operations. Omron therefore sees South Korea as an important country for its business. In addition, as South Korea faces various emerging social issues, such as rapidly increasing labor costs and a growing number of patients with lifestyle-related diseases, there is potential for further growth in the fields of industrial automation, automotive electronic components and healthcare, which can be achieved by Omron’s strategic advantage: adding value through automation.

Omron aims to accelerate business growth by establishing an optimal global network that includes OMCK, and contributing to the further development of South Korean society through its business operations.
