TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE), the negotiation-free car buying and selling platform, marks a milestone this month as a majority of visitors accessed the service by mobile device rather than with a desktop or laptop computer.

Thus far in January 50.6 percent of people visiting TrueCar did so via smartphones and tablets, the first time mobile users represented the majority accessing the service. Remarkably, nearly one third of total users visited TrueCar using Apple iOS devices. The increase in mobile usage is a direct reflection of consumers’ increasing demand for greater flexibility during the car-buying process.

“The future of car buying is mobile, and we intend to lead this transformation in a way that works for all players in the automotive eco-system” said John Krafcik, TrueCar president. “Millenials are entering the auto market in ever greater numbers and they expect mobile devices to be part of the process. TrueCar is focused on these customers. We’re enhancing our mobile products to ensure they have a seamless, exceptional experience.”

Krafcik will share TrueCar’s vision of the role of mobile in the car-buying process and impact of millennial consumers as part of the Automotive News Retail Forum and National Automobile Dealers Association’sConvention & Expo 2015 in San Francisco on Jan. 22.
