Michael Olechiw, Director – Light-duty Vehicle and Small Engine Center, EPA, has been confirmed as a speaker in the Powertrain Innovation track at Automotive Megatrends USA 2015, which takes place on 17 March 2015.
Michael Olechiw has worked at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 2009. During his tenure with EPA Mr. Olechiw was one of the primary authors of the first greenhouse gas rule for light-duty vehicles and the vehicle team leader for the recently finalized Tier 3 criteria pollutant rule for light-duty vehicles.
Mr. Olechiw is currently the Director of the Light-duty Vehicle and Small Engine Center, and is responsible for regulatory development and research at EPA’s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to that, Mr. Olechiw served as Director of the Data and Testing Center responsible for conducting test programs in support of rule makings, modeling and test procedure development.
Previous to working at the EPA, Mr. Olechiw was employed by Chrysler Corporation for 17 years. Mr. Olechiw’s career at Chrysler focused on vehicle product engineering including powertrain controls, vehicle development, program management and active chassis systems. He is currently serving as the chairman of the Electric Vehicles and Environment Informal Working Group under the UNECE Group of Pollution Experts (GRPE).
