Meritor (NYSE: MTOR) Defense will showcase advanced technology to support warfighters at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2013 Annual Meeting and Exposition, a defense tradeshow at the Walter E. Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Oct. 21-23.

“We engineered our chassis components and new electronic systems to boost vehicle mobility, traction, overall performance and safety,” said Dave Damian, director of sales and business development, Meritor Defense.

Visit the company’s defense experts in booth 1203 to learn about new electronic products, SmartFlow™ Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) and DriveCommand™ Drivetrain Control (DTC), and the ProTec™ High Mobility Independent Suspension (HMIS). Visitors can view SmartFlow CTIS and DriveCommand DTC features and benefits via an interactive display in the booth or in a video on meritordefense.com.

SmartFlow CTIS provides outstanding mobility for military vehicles. Drivers choose a mode through a human machine interface (HMI) panel on the dashboard to inflate or deflate tire pressure based on the terrain they are maneuvering. Tires can be controlled independently or all four at once.

DriveCommand DTC engages automatically when the driver chooses a mode on the same HMI panel, locking or unlocking the differentials and controlling the transfer case function based on the terrain. Drivers will maneuver with less difficulty through mud, sand or snow, on highways or cross-country and in emergency situations with these technologies.

Also featured in Meritor Defense’s booth will be the ProTec HMIS Series 30, which is on vehicles in the Joint Light Tactical Wheeled (JLTV) and High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) programs. The ProTec Series 30 is part of a complete chassis offering, which is a bolt-in design and integrates into existing up-armored HMMWVs.
