The vehicles will work across both sites and will help further grow Inter-Hauls comprehensive logistics offering.
Mark Waite, Managing Director Inter-Haul, said; “We very much enjoy the partnering and trusted relationship we’ve formed with MAN Truck & Bus, MAN’s local Sales Executive David Hopkins and our local dealership WG Davies of Cardiff.
“Over the years we’ve found WG Davies’s approach to be very much based on offering high levels of focussed and tailored customer service. Roger Davies and the entire Cardiff team totally understand the needs of our business, they share our want of having all our vehicles on the road and earning and this is why, when we look at new vehicles, fleet replacements and service, we return to MAN and WG Davies time after time, it’s a simple decision.”
The Inter-Haul fleet is multifunctional and is made up of two x 13 tonne rigids, 19 x 18 tonne rigids, 18 of these are curtainsiders, with one being a flat-bed with a chassis mounted crane, two x 26 tonne rigids and 18 x 44 tonne tractor units. Their tractor units pull 13.6 and 15.6 metre semi-trailers both in single and double deck configuration, many fitted with bespoke tail lifts for their Contract Logistics Division.
Inter-Hauls’ new trucks are all powered by MAN’s latest generation Euro6D compliant, low consumption engines. Across the entire model range these cutting-edge engines have proven to be gentle on service costs, frugal on fuel and caring on the environment. Not only are they proving more efficient than their predecessors in service, but these engines are also lighter therefore improving payload efficiency, which in turn positively impacts upon fleet total cost of ownership (TCO) and vehicle whole life performance.
“In terms of efficiency, when looking at whole life vehicle costs, our MAN Trucks offer us outstanding value for money. With a high level of car like comfort driver acceptance is good, as is the high level of technology in terms of both driver safety and assistance aids.” added Mark.
Building on safety the Inter-Haul new New Generation MAN TGX’s feature a host of advanced safety systems: including Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and Lane Guard System (LGS). Included in the specification is the Electronic Parking Brake, which applies automatically when the vehicle is parked, with the gearbox in neutral and the ignition key removed.
Inter-Hauls’ TGM rigids feature Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) Electronic Stability Program (ESP) systems and are suitably specified to ensure the driver has a relaxing environment throughout the working week.
“Our latest TGX Individual Lion S tractors have a very high specification and this is for a number of reasons: we like to ensure our drivers have a nice safe and secure working environment and when away from home a comfortable and well-appointed cab. It’s a tough job being on the road and we put a high value on the great job our drivers do. These vehicles have integrated televisions, microwaves and coffee machines which also helps with driver retention and recruitment.” said Mark .
“We also wanted these vehicles to both draw the eye to Inter-Haul as a reliable company a committed service provider and a professional logistics partner and, at the same time represent the company well both on the road and at our customers premises.”
David Hopkins, MAN Truck & Bus Sales Executive, added, “Mark at Inter-Haul has been a much valued customer for a number of years now, having a close relationship means we totally understand the operation and how our high level of service, across the board, adds value to his business.
“We know that fuel is a big cost for any truck operator and we’re delighted to see that marks vehicles are both delivering upon his expectations and our promise. We very much look forward to continuing this relationship” concluded David.
