Infiniti continues its strong momentum, setting a new global sales record in May. The brand sold approximately 18,000 vehicles around the world last month, an increase of 3 percent over May 2015 and representing the best-ever May sales performance in Infiniti’s history. Year-to-date, Infiniti sold about 91,000 vehicles globally, up 5 percent compared to the same period last year, setting another sales record for the company.
This month also marked the best-ever May sales for key regions and markets such as Western Europe, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Asia and Oceania, as well as Australia.
Sales in Western Europe were exceptionally strong with more than 870 vehicles in May, an increase of 118 percent year over year. Year-to-date, 8,000 vehicles were sold, up 182 percent year over year.
In the Americas (U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America), Infiniti sold more than 12,100 vehicles in May, an increase of 4 percent over May 2015. Infiniti achieved its best May sales in Canada, Mexico and Latin America. Year-to-date, the brand sold more than 59,800 vehicles.
In Asia and Oceania (Australia, Korea, Taiwan and other markets), Infiniti sold more than 480 vehicles, an increase of 12 percent year-over-year. Infiniti recorded double-digit growth in Korea (14 percent) and Australia (30 percent). Year-to-date, sales in the A&O region increased 27 percent with 2,800 vehicles sold. Infiniti achieved its best-ever May year-to-date sales in Korea and Australia.
In China, Infiniti sold more than 3,600 vehicles in May, a decrease of 9 percent from May 2015 due to product availability. Year-to-date, Infiniti sold approximately 15,000 vehicles, a decrease of 5 percent compared to the same period last year.
