Energy and climate webinar

This webinar will present the results of the Global transportation energy and climate roadmap, an evaluation of the impact of transportation policies on worldwide oil consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the potential for reductions in both by 2030.

The report, released in December 2012, concludes that disseminating best-practice regulations and cost-effective technologies throughout major global vehicle markets, while at the same time supporting shifts to low-carbon modes, could essentially stabilize global transportation GHG emissions by 2020.

The analysis is based on the ICCT Global Transportation Roadmap model, an analytical tool that draws upon the best available data for global and national transportation emissions and policies to identify and project trends, illustrate the implications of different policy scenarios, and help users conceptualize strategies to reduce both GHG and conventional vehicle emissions.

This is the first in a planned series, which will include in-depth sessions on the model itself and presentations of other modeling analyses, such as the health impacts worldwide of on-road vehicle emissions.

Session 1: 23 April 2013, 8:00–9:00 AM PDT (UTC-7). Register.

Session 2: 23 April 2013, 8:00–9:00 PM PDT (UTC-7). Register

The webinar is free, but space is limited.
