The buses made by Pavlovo Bus Plant of GAZ Group, a company of Basic Element industrial group, will be the first buses in Russia to be equipped with Granit-Navigator-6.18 terminal of the Russian ERA-GLONASS emergency response system. In December 2015, the terminal was certified in compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union for installation into PAZ branded vehicles. GAZ Group is planning to start the production of PAZ buses with the ERA-GLONASS system terminal in 2016.

The buses made by Pavlovo Bus Plant of GAZ Group will be the first buses in Russia to be equipped with the terminals of the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system. The ERA-GLONASS system was developed to reduce the time required for the transmission of the signal about a road accident or any other accidents to the services of emergency response. The terminal was certified for installation into PAZ-3204 bus model range designed for working on city and suburban routes, including those with higher passenger flows (Vector model).

In case of an accident or any other emergency situation on the road, the driver of the bus equipped with the ERA-GLONASS terminal can promptly get into contact with emergency services by pressing a special button. The terminal installed in the bus will automatically determine the location of the vehicle and transmit the information through the mobile communications channels to the ERA-GLONASS system regarding the exact coordinates, time and severity of the accident, as well as the vehicle identification number (VIN). The signal will be processed and transferred to the System-112 or to the police department for taking responsive actions.

The Granit-Navigator-6.18 terminal can also be used for connecting additional services, such as monitoring and dispatching of the bus fleet depots, control of the driving style in compliance with Europrotocol or CASCO insurance standards, dangerous or hazardous cargo transportation, passenger transportation management.

The ERA-GLONASS equipment can function for an indefinite period of time using the batteries of the vehicle, even in the case of disconnection from the main batteries. The range of the working temperature is from -40°Сto +85°С. The peripheral equipment of the terminal (loudspeaker, microphone, indicators) will be factory installed during the assembly of the buses and connected to the terminal through a standard connector.

M. Eibeck, RM CEO:

– The ERA-GLONASS equipment that can promptly report about an extraordinary situation and call for the emergency service, is meant to significantly increase the effectiveness and safety of public transportation. We believe that this opwtion will become one more important advantage for the customers of our vehicles. We are interested to integrate a maximum quantity of the vehicle produced by Russian Machines into this system and are now working to obtain the corresponding certificates for the other GAZ Group products.

A. Smyatskikh, CEO, Space Team Navigation Holding (system developer):

– The certified multifunctional equipment we offer to the market, can use additional services besides informing the emergency services. Thanks to this option, the transportation company will be able, without any additional expenses, to connect the bus with the ERA-GLONASS terminal to the existing transportation dispatching and management system. We believe that the future belongs to such multifunctional systems.
