In an extension of the previously announced recall concerning the ignition switch of the model year 2007 Opel GT, Opel will replace the ignition switch in all model year GT cars in Europe, since faulty switches may have been used to repair the vehicles. 

So far, around 2,300 units of the model year 2007 GT had been affected and the customers notified. Including the model years 2008 – 2010, this figure increases to 7,450 vehicles.

Opel is not aware of any incidents or injuries related to the ignition switch condition concerning the GT.

Other Opel models are not affected.

Until the condition is rectified, customers should only use the ignition key with nothing else on the key ring.

Owners will be contacted a soon as possible. Opel dealers will replace their ignition switch free of charge.
