Today, elite drivers from American Trucking Associations’ Share the Road team said that well-maintained roads and bridges are important to highway safety.
“Good roads and bridges make it easier for professional drivers like me and everyday motorists to arrive at our destinations safely,” said Charlie Demchock, a Share the Road professional with Walmart Transportation. “Potholes, congestion and poorly marked roads make the important task of driving more difficult.”
Earlier this week, ATA called on Congress to pass a long-term highway bill to address the condition of the nation’s roads and bridges.
“While good roads are important to safety, it is also important to drive carefully when those roads are being worked on,” said Richie Buitrago, a Share the Road professional with Con-way Freight. “Slowing down and being alert in construction zones is a great way to keep not only motorists, but the men and women working on our highways safe.”
