Delphi Automotive PLC (NYSE:DLPH) supplies technology on the new California T to increase comfort as well as reduce fuel consumption and emissions. A long-time partner to Ferrari, Delphi supplies key components to the automaker’s new hardtop-convertible, unveiled this week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Optimal comfort for all passengers
Using improved comfort algorithm software, Delphi’s lightweight dual-zone heating, ventilation and air conditioning module (HVAC), condenser and compact variable compressor help keep Ferrari passengers comfortable without sacrificing any engine performance.
Optimized power and signal distribution system
Delphi developed the complete power and signal distribution system that enables proper functioning of electric and electronic systems within the new California T. Due to its full system capabilities, Delphi has provided an optimized system, including wiring harnesses and electrical centers, that is lighter and further contributes to the reduction of emissions and fuel consumption.
The California T is the latest in a long-line of Ferrari vehicles to utilize Delphi’s advanced technologies. Delphi has worked with Ferrari since the 1990s to develop and design climate control and electrical/electronic systems to meet Ferrari’s high performance and quality demands.

At this week’s Geneva Motor Show, automakers will unveil a fleet of new vehicles featuring Delphi technology designed to keep passengers safe and connected while respecting the environment.
SAFE – Broader availability of active safety technologies – Protecting vehicle passengers
Featured on several Ford models, including the new Ford Focus, Delphi’s award-winning electronically scanning radar (ESR) enables adaptive cruise control with forward alert. Delphi has developed state-of-the-art safety restraint system (SRS) connectors that enable airbags to perform during critical moments. Delphi’s SRS connectors are now featured on the Audi S1 and TT, Mercedes-Benz C Class, Peugeot 308 SW, Qoros 3 Hatch and Volkswagen Polo.
GREEN – Low CO2 emissions and fuel consumption
Demand for gasoline direct injection (GDi) technology is increasing and nearly half of all gasoline engines are expected to feature GDi technology worldwide in 2020. Delphi’s GDi system significantly reduces CO2 emissions while offering an industry benchmark for low noise, which is a key consumer issue. Delphi’s system is featured on the new Peugeot 308 SW. The Delphi Multec® light duty diesel common rail system is featured on the new Mercedes-Benz C Class and Volkswagen Polo. With its smart balanced valve solenoid injector design, this system is extremely fast and has injection performances similar to competitive servo-piezo technologies.
CONNECTED – High-performance reception systems
Delphi’s integrated antennas offer vehicle manufacturers the flexibility of multiple high-performance reception systems without compromised styling. Delphi’s latest antenna technology is featured on the new BMW 2-Series Active Tourer, Citroën C4 Cactus, Ford Focus, Mercedes-Benz C Class and S-Class Coupé.
