Dearman, the clean cold technology company, has today announced the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer to drive the company’s commercial transformation in technology and innovation globally.

Scott Mac Meekin, appointed as CEO and brings extensive international commercial experience and expertise in transforming technology companies from innovative start-ups to successful global operations.

Dearman is developing a suite of high efficiency, zero emission technologies for the transport, logistics and built environment sectors. At the heart of its portfolio is the Dearman Engine, a revolutionary technology which uses the expansion of liquid nitrogen to create clean cold and power.

The first commercialisation of the Dearman technology is a zero-emission transport refrigeration unit, which is currently in in operation with major European retailers and is scheduled for international deployment. The company has established a range of international partnerships and projects, and now is the appropriate moment to increase the capacity and experience of the leadership team as it prepares for growth.

Discussing the appointment, Toby Peters, Founder of Dearman said:

“This is a landmark appointment for Dearman, which comes at a momentous time for our company. Scott has precisely the skills and business acumen to drive Dearman’s transition from an innovative technology developer to a game-changing international industrial company. With decades of global leadership experience and a proven track record, Scott is exactly the right person to achieve our goals.”

“Dearman’s vision is to deliver clean, sustainable cold and power to help address global challenges of climate change, air quality and spiraling energy demand. Until recently cold was the Cinderella of the energy debate, but that is changing and Dearman is now at the heart of a burgeoning cold economy. We are well placed to take advantage, tapping into new sectors and fast-growing markets, and Scott brings the expertise and experience necessary to realise the opportunity.”

Commenting on his new role as CEO of Dearman, Scott Mac Meekin said:

“Dearman has grown from concept into the UK’s most exciting technology company and I couldn’t be more honoured to have been chosen to lead the team going forward.

“Dearman has the potential to make a significant, global contribution, as shown by its pioneering, zero-emission transport refrigeration unit. This is an exciting time to lead Dearman and I look forward to supporting our enormously talented team as we tackle the next stage of the company’s growth and development.”

Scott has over 30 years of senior global experience in the development and commercialisation of emerging technologies and joins Dearman from Singapore-based Navis Capital Partners, South East Asia’s largest private equity fund. Prior to this, his recent roles include Chief Operating Officer at Tes-Envirocorp, where he transformed the business from a regional electronics waste management company into a global electronics services firm. Scott also holds the role of Non-Executive Director at TR Fastenings (LON:TRI), which supplies assembly solutions to market leaders in the automotive, electronic design and manufacturing sectors across 50 countries.
