Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) announced today that it has partnered with CareerBuilder® to launch the Truck Tech Careers job site for technicians seeking positions in its service network. Truck Tech Careers (careers.trucktechs.com) is the third tier of DTNA’s exclusive Truck Techs recruitment and training program, which is unprecedented in the industry.

With more than 1,300 dealers and service partners located throughout North America, including Freightliner® and Western Star® dealers, and Detroit™ distributors, DTNA has one of the largest service networks in the industry. Assuring that there are enough qualified technicians in its service network is a top priority for DTNA.

“Our industry is experiencing a critical shortage of skilled technicians,” said Dragan Brocilo, manager of training programs and marketing at DTNA. “Truck Tech Careers allows us to immediately address the issue by connecting employers in our network with qualified technicians, as well as with motivated candidates seeking to enter the industry.”

In addition to the jobs site, earlier this year DTNA launched the Get Ahead partnership program between DTNA, diesel schools and DTNA service network locations. The program grants participating schools free access to online industry training and allows their students to earn credits toward certifications recognized and required by the network. Get Ahead is a locally-focused complement to the existing Finish First 12-week hands-on training program offered at Universal Technical Institute’s Arizona and Illinois campuses.

“DTNA significantly invests in the development of the most advanced commercial vehicles on the road,” said Brocilo. “It only makes sense that we also invest in the technicians who will keep those vehicles moving. Our customers expect a superior service experience, and the Truck Techs program helps our network find, develop and retain the top technicians who are ready to deliver it.”
