Spring will soon be in the air with the most iconic model of the new smart generation: the new smart fortwo cabrio is available for ordering now and will reach dealers in February. Prices start at 15,655 euros for the model with the 52 kW engine with twinamic dual clutch transmission. In addition to the three lines passion, prime and proxy, customers can choose from a large range of safety and comfort details – including the new features added in the latest facelift such as smartphone integration with MirrorLink® (standard in combination with the smart Media-System) or the Urban Style package (825 euros).
The new smart fortwo cabrio is the only genuine cabriolet in its vehicle class – and one of the most reasonably priced open-top vehicles to be had: fresh-air fun is initially available from a starting price of 15,655 euros[1] for the version with 52 kW engine and twinamic dual clutch transmission. Prices for the smart fortwo cabrio with a 66 kW engine and twinamic start at 16,550 euros – in each case this represents an additional charge of 3,260 euros in comparison to the closed model. A version with manual transmission will be available at a later date. A minimal turning circle and compact dimensions are defining features of both the cabrio and the coupé.
At the touch of a button, the new smart cabrio is transformed in just twelve seconds and at any speed from a closed two-seater into a car with a large folding sunroof and then a cabriolet with a completely open roof. This enables the fresh-air driving experience to be adapted highly spontaneously according to the prevailing weather and the driver’s wishes. This flexibility made possible by the “tritop” folding sunroof and removable roof struts is a special feature not only in this segment. The roof bars are accommodated in a stowage compartment in the tailgate.
Even in the entry-level version, the smart cabrio offers a comprehensive scope of safety and comfort features. These include LED daytime driving lights, central locking with radio remote control, visual locking-verification signal and immobiliser, cruise control with limiter (variable speed limitation), exterior temperature indicator with frost warning, instrument cluster with monochrome LCD display and trip computer, and electric windows. A heated rear window made of glass features as standard. A wind deflector is optionally available (57 euros).
