Company celebrates its eleventh anniversary, marking its development from a regional manufacturing footprint to global automakers’ top-choice supplier

Chongqing Yanfeng Johnson Controls Automotive Components Co., Ltd. (CQYFJC), one of Johnson Controls’ major automotive seating joint ventures in China, today announced the launch of its new headquarters campus in Huangmaoping Industrial Park, Chongqing City, China. The company also celebrates its eleventh anniversary during the grand opening ceremony on the new site.

Formed in October 2003, CQYFJC is the joint venture Johnson Controls partnered with Shanghai Yanfeng Johnson Controls Seating Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Bo’ao Industry Co., Ltd. The company provides a full range of complete seat systems and automotive components, including metal structures, foam, trim and overhead systems.

With approximately 3,000 employees and 9 manufacturing plants across China, CQYFJC supplies many global and Chinese automakers. Its products have been installed in many different vehicle types and segments, from compact sedans to luxury cars. In addition to domestic businesses, CQYFJC also exports products to overseas market. Sales revenue in 2014 is estimated to reach 3 billion RMB.

The new Huangmaoping headquarters campus, which is a benchmark facility in the local industrial park, covers 66,600 square meters. In the 53,000-square-meter main building, the company houses an administration center, technical center and production facilities for foam, trim and complete seats. With the new Huangmaoping plant put into operation, the total production capacity of CQYFJC is expected to reach 1 million car sets per year.

With the launch of new headquarters campus, CQYFJC now has full service and technical capabilities, from design, benchmarking, product development, engineering, testing to manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) delivery. This marks an important milestone in CQYFJC’s eleven-year development from a regional manufacturing footprint to a global automakers’ top-choice supplier.

“China is a strategic market for Johnson Controls, and CQYFJC is an important part of Johnson Controls’ global network,” said Eric Sorret, group vice president and general manager China, Johnson Controls Automotive Experience. “Going forward, we’ll provide the joint venture with continuous support to increase its innovation, engineering and lean manufacturing capabilities.”

“In the past eleven years, CQYFJC has achieved remarkable success in terms of technology development, lean manufacturing, business operation, team and culture building. We received recognition from our customers, as well as honors and support from Chongqing local government.” said Wang Wuyang, CQYFJC chairman. “In the future, we’ll continue to reinforce partnership with Johnson Controls, and together build the company into a leading supplier in the automotive industry.”
