Bo Shin Seo, the Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Ltd, has been confirmed as a speaker at Automotive Megatrends India 2015. He will participate in a panel discussion on India’s car industry over the next ten years.
B.S. Seo, MD of Hyundai Motor India (HMI), the second largest automobile manufacturer and the largest exporter In India, has had a career spanning 33 years with Hyundai Motor Company (HMC). A mechanical engineer by profession, Seo joined HMC, Korea in 1982. He has worked across various functions, primarily in the production arena, not just in Korea, but in different parts of the world.
His areas of expertise span various aspects of production such as press, die design & manufacturing, body engineering, factory automation, manufacturing engineering and overseas plant engineering. He has worked in various capacities in overseas plants and held international positions.
In 2009, Seo was deputed to HMI as Executive Director, Production, a role to which he brought his experience and expertise. In March, 2012 he took over as Managing Director, HMI, and under his leadership, HMI has achieved the five-millionth car production milestone and has won the Indian Car of the Year award twice in a row for its models such as the Grand i10 and Elite i20. Seo attaches utmost importance to workplace safety, quality and encourages out of the box thinking and innovation.
