Ford Ranger

The RHD 2.2 diesel European model Ford Ranger was tested by Euro NCAP. ANCAP was provided with information which showed that the Euro NCAP results apply to all Australasian variants

The tested model of Ford Ranger was introduced in Australia and New Zealand in 2011. This 5 star ANCAP safety rating applies to all variants built from May 2014. Separate ANCAP safety ratings are available for variants built prior to this date. Dual front airbags, head-protecting side curtains, antilock brakes (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and electronic stability control (ESC) are standard on all 5 star variants. Side thorax airbags are also standard except for single cabs with three front seats (bench seats). Intelligent seat belt reminders are fitted to both front seats of most variants however single cab variants with three front seats only have a driver seat belt reminder. The lack of side thorax airbags and a passenger seat belt reminder do not affect the 5 star safety rating for these variants but their overall score reduces to 34.72.

5 stars. In the frontal offset crash test, driver chest protection was acceptable. Driver protection was good in the side impact test. Head protection in the side pole test was good.
