Aisin Group today announced that it will participate in the 45th Tokyo Motor Show, considered one of the top motor events in the world. Held at the Tokyo Big Sight, the show begins with Press Preview Oct. 25-26, and is open to the public through Nov. 5, 2017. The joint exhibit will include six Aisin Group companies including Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd., Aisin Takaoka Co., Ltd., Aisin Chemical Co., Ltd., Aisin AW Co., Ltd., Aisin AI Co., Ltd., and ADVICS Co., Ltd.
In response to structural changes in the automobile industry, Aisin Group is focusing on three next-generation growth areas: Zero Emissions, Automated Driving, and Connected Cars. Progress and strategy of these technologies will be presented by Aisin Group President Yasumori Ihara at the Aisin Group press conference, Oct. 26 at 10:45 am, East Hall 1, 2, 3. - Zero Emissions: Aisin Group will present expansions to its powertrain lineup in response to the shift toward vehicle electrification, including a 1-Motor Hybrid Transmission utilizing existing technology and a high-capacity electric 4WD (e-4WD) unit.
- Automated Driving: integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control including a Driver Emergency Response System, as well as Automated Valet Parking will be exhibited.
- Connected Cars: Aisin Group will offer an easily understandable introduction to its Location Based Services, as well as Hospitality Services, in which the vehicle interprets users’ feelings and continuously provides a comfortable ride.
Highlighting Aisin Group’s role as a comprehensive auto parts supplier dealing with nearly every part that comprises a vehicle, the latest frame-model demonstration car will make its global debut as it is unveiled to the press and public. The vehicle is equipped with a wide range of products in the Group’s lineup and is structured so it can be understood at a glance. The large, accompanying LED screen will illustrate the distinctive features of each product on the car.
As core technologies that support the company’s next-generation development projects, Aisin Group will also exhibit key products in four major business areas: Powertrain, Driving Safety, Body, and Information and Electronics. These products convey the nature of Aisin’s commitment to skilled manufacturing competency and quality as well is its ability to execute next-generation development projects.
In addition, Aisin Group’s personal mobility device, ILY-Ai – which meets diverse user needs by switching into four modes: Vehicle, Kick-Scooter, Cart and Carry – will be demonstrated.
