The automotive industry in Mexico set a new production record last year, with output totalling 3.22 million vehicles. Compared with 2013 production levels, last year's numbers were up 9.8%. The country's automotive industry exports most of the vehicles it produces. Last year, for instance, exports accounted for 82% of total automotive production.
