The Asia Oceania region has attracted considerable investment from Volvo Trucks recently, including Baht 3bn (US$93.5m) to expand its dealer network in Thailand and a new representative office in Mongolia. By the end of the year it will open additional offices in Pakistan and Myanmar as well. In addition, the OEM has just spent US$3bn on developing a new range of trucks which launched in May. Automotive World spoke with Christophe Martin, President of Volvo Trucks in Asia Oceania, on Volvo's approach to the region and how it has managed to emerge as the segment leader.
