Tesla a “safe bet” in Nordic countries

The market share of EVs and PHEVs in Nordic countries is expected to continue its upward trajectory, with Tesla taking top spot. By Michael Nash

2015 was a milestone year for electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Sales reached 47,910 units, marking a record year. The total number of electrified vehicles on the roads in these countries passed 100,000 – a figure that, according to research firm Insero, “firmly establishes the role of the electric car in the Nordic market.”

What can we expect to happen during 2016? Speaking to Automotive World, Søren Bernt Lindegaard, Consultant at Insero, predicted further growth with Tesla outperforming other manufacturers.
