Tesla logs three robotaxi crashes in one day, withholds info

Elon Musk has promised to remove safety drivers this year, but scrutiny is continuing to build about its technology’s readiness. By Stewart Burnett

Tesla has disclosed limited information regarding three crashes involving its robotaxi fleet in Austin, Texas, all of which occurred on 1 July—just ten days after the company launched its pilot service. The incidents, reported to US regulators with most information redacted, involved a fleet of only around a dozen vehicles that had logged no more than 7,000 miles at the time.
