Takata airbag recall expands

Further recalls have been announced from Toyota, Nissan and Honda relating to faulty Takata airbags amid a fresh round of lawsuits against the supplier

Toyota has announced it will be expanding its recalls involving faulty Takata airbag inflators that have so far been linked to six deaths in total worldwide.

The OEM will replace Takata-supplied driver's side front airbag inflators on approximately 160,000 RAV4 SUVs from model years 2004 and 2005. According to Toyota, these inflators could “potentially be susceptible to rupture when deployed in a crash, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.”
