Is stop-start technology worth it, or worthless?

New tests examine if today's stop-start technologies are beneficial enough to warrant their inclusion in vehicles

Toyota was the first OEM to trial stop-start technology in a vehicle back in the 1970s. The OEM recorded a 10% improvement in fuel economy in these early tests, but how much of a difference do today’s stop-start technologies make to fuel economy and emissions?
