Siemens and Volta go ‘one step further’ to electrify CEVs

How might this partnership impact the electrification of fleets and Truck-as-a-Service? By Elle Farrell-Kingsley

On 13 October 2022, electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Volta Trucks and smart infrastructure provider Siemens announced a new strategic partnership. Its aim is to deliver and scale eMobility charging infrastructure and simplify the transition to fleet electrification

The partnership will combine Volta Trucks’ expertise in commercial fleet electrification through its Truck-as-a-Service (TaaS) offering with Siemens’ global experience in electrification, energy management and intelligent infrastructure projects. “To deliver the electrification of urban logistics at pace and scale, we need operationally efficient electrification infrastructure aligned to the exact requirements of each fleet,” says Essa Al-Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of Volta Trucks.
