As global regulations put increasing pressure on OEMs to make cleaner, more efficient cars, vehicle lightweighting has established itself as an enabler to help meet these standards.
Global lightweighting solutions supplier Shiloh Industries is benefitting from the growing demand for lighter vehicles. Company President and Chief Executive Ramzi Hermiz explained that since joining the company three years ago, his aim has been to take advantage of this trend. “Automotive lightweighting is a huge addressable market that is forecast to quadruple in size over the next 15 years to approximately US$400bn,” he said in an earnings call to discuss its second quarter (Q2) 2015 financial results.
