Russia forecast lowered as H1 decline outpaces expectations

Falling wages, price increases and market exits are all impacting new vehicle demand in Russia, writes Megan Lampinen

Russia's new vehicle market continues to contract, and at a faster rate than some had expected. At the half way mark through the year, passenger car and light vehicle sales are down 14.1% from the first six months last year at 672,14 units. June alone saw a slightly more moderate 12.5% decline, putting the monthly total at 122,633 units.
