Progress report: year one of the Climate Decade

Data suggests that 2020 was far from a lost year for climate action within the transport industry, writes Megan Lampinen

The influential environmental organisation The Climate Group has designated the 2020s as the Climate Decade—a pivotal period for urgent global action to address greenhouse gas emissions. Within the transport sector, electric vehicles (EVs) will play a major role in that effort. So how is the industry doing on that front, one year into the decade of action?

“The momentum is continuing,” states Sandra Roling, Head of The Climate Group’s EV100 initiative. “Even the COVID crisis hasn’t been able to distract companies too much from climate action.”
