India’s new road transport bill emphasises design & safety

At the beginning of this year, the results of the first-ever independent crash tests of some of India's popular small cars came out. These included the country's bestselling car, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, the Hyundai i10 and the Tata Nano, among others. What the tests revealed was that these cars showed a high risk of life threatening injuries in road crashes.
