New EcoBlue engine embodies Euro VI technologies

Emissions regulations were the main driver behind the development of Ford’s new EcoBlue engine, observes Michael Nash

At the 2016 Commercial Vehicle (CV) show held in Birmingham, UK, Ford unveiled its all-new 2.0-litre EcoBlue engine – the first in a range of advanced Ford diesel engines that are specifically designed to deliver a combination of fuel efficiency, performance and refinement.

The diesel engine will make its debut in the Transit and Transit Custom models, but Ford’s Nick Pollard, Chief Program Engineer, told Automotive World that it could also find its way to the passenger vehicle segment.
