Following a recall announcement last week of certain Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 vehicles to correct a condition with the ignition switch that may allow the key to unintentionally move or switch to the 'accessory' or 'off' position, GM has decided to expand the recall to cover further 2003-2007 model year vehicles, reaching a total of 1,620,665 vehicles in the US, Mexico and Canada, nearly double the original figure.
