Low-latency network ‘a mission-critical feature’ for autonomous vehicles

Autonomous vehicles must be able to act on real-time data without delaying to ensure optimal safety, observes Michael Nash

Active safety systems are playing an increasingly important role in the automotive industry, gradually becoming more common in both the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle (CV) segments. Combining these systems could be a pathway to the realisation of autonomous transportation, but this will be reliant on the development of low-latency connectivity.
