JLR CEO Adrian Mardell steps down amid tough 2025

Adrian Mardell is the latest CEO to resign from a major automaker as the challenges of 2025 continue. By Will Girling

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Chief Executive Adrian Mardell will step down after 35 years at the company. The Tata-owned automaker directly confirmed his departure in multiple reports on 31 July 2025, noting that a successor will be announced “in due course”.
