Michael Nash talks to Bruno Blin about CV demand in Europe, Africa and the Middle East

Recent data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) shows that commercial vehicle (CV) demand in Europe rose by 13.5% during the first half of 2016, with Italy witnessing the biggest growth in sales at 30.8%. Sales also rose in Spain by 14%, in France by 12.7%, Germany 10.4% and the UK 3.6%.

One of Europe’s largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles (CVs), Renault Trucks, is looking to take advantage of this growth. The company has been owned by the Volvo Group since 2001, and has recently undergone a major product renewal in the hope of achieving record market share.

Speaking to Automotive World, Bruno Blin, Executive Vice President of Volvo Group and President of Renault Trucks, outlined the company's expectations for the European CV segment, as well as other emerging markets. He pointed to numerous political situations that could cause issues for CV demand in Europe.
