GST a step closer to implementation in India?

With the Finance Minister stating that a revised Constitution Amendment Bill to facilitate the implementation of GST would be introduced in the Winter Session of parliament, there are signs that GST is nearing implementation.

One of the aspects most eagerly awaited by the Indian automotive industry has been the Goods and Services Tax (GST). This is a tax that will replace all indirect taxes levied on goods and services by India's central and state governments. This is expected to result in efficient cross-state transportation, smooth paperwork for road freight companies, and reduced logistics costs.
