GM nearly doubles Q3 income despite deeper downturn in Europe

GM's net income nearly doubled in Q3 despite worsening results from Europe. Mary Barra and Chuck Stevens shed light on the situation.

General Motors suffered notable losses in Europe and continued hefty recall related expenses, but record sales in China and stronger pricing in North America left it with net income of US$1.4bn for the third quarter, nearly US$700m up from the same quarter last year.
